This is our Xmas tree. I shot it with a style called "freelensing" where I detached the lens from the camera, held it at a slight angle, and clicked away.

Maybe not the best for the equipment, but it can lead to some nifty effects.

WOW.

Crossroads with the kids to sell "sell" some books to Half-Price Books.  We took a bunch of kids books, maybe 40 in total and were offered a whopping $3.75 for the lot.

Of course, we took the cash.

This shot looked cool in my mind. Via the BB, though, not so much. That trail of white in the top middle are those hideous icicle lights that were so trendy a few years ago. It may have looked cool in the shot had I not shot them straight on, but I felt geeky enough holding the phone up that I just took the one shot and split.

Marci and I had a hot date tonight which consisted of pho and a trip to Southcenter, or whatever fancy name they call it these days.

Basically we were kid free for a few hours, bought some gifts. This shot is of 3 copies of a book called The Redbreast, by the Norwegian author, Jo Nesbo. I was lucky enough to come across one of his other books, The Devil's Star, at our local library a few months ago and, after reading that, had to seek out Nesbo's other books.

Do yourself a favor: check out Nesbo if you're into mystery/thrillers (think Michael Connelly, Steig Larssen). I would even venture to type that Nesbo's books are better than those by the aforementioned.

It's Grandma's rocking chair. If Grandma was a doll that lived in Haley's doll house. Or, if Grandma was alive and was a doll that lived in Haley's doll house.

After the wet snow this morning, we all went outside and made some snowmen. The snow rolled great and cleared these wide green paths of grass. It was quite the workout too, rolling those huge snowballs.

This here is Haley's snowperson. The mittens were her little touch.

Our neighbor, he of the blue bicycle, gave us two sleds like this today. I didn't get to play with them, but the kids sure enjoyed them.

Tonight is the end of the world as we know it. Snow has arrived, so let the pain in the butt everything commence.

Luckily, it's a short week anyway. Let's just hope our power stays on.

We signed up for rock climbing classes at the South Bellevue Community Center. After working on knots and learning how to belay, it was the kids' turn to climb. Haley motored right up the side of this wall (33 feet!) like it was a ladder. I belayed her for a bit, then Tom the proprietor took over while I snapped pix.

This shot was taken from a landing about 1/3 of the way up the wall. If I'd shot from the floor, it'd be hard to see her at all.

A friend of mine from HS works there and she said that a lot of kids get up there and then freak out and cry. Hay? Nope.

She...

Rocked it.

It's my neglected Xbox racing wheel. I busted it out last week, attached it to a kitchen stool, and had some fun racing cars I'll never own around a track on my TV screen. Still fun, a little pathetic, but I'm too old to care anymore.

I tried to take a picture of the shower in the dark but couldn't find the water through the viewfinder. This picture originally had a shower head in in it but I didn't like how it looked so I cropped it out. After a few tweaks, here's what you get.

I was about to pork out on these peanut M&Ms. Instead, I took some pictures of them. I used Riley's new Cub Scout Popcorn Sales earned flashlight for, well, light, and snapped away.

I liked the shadows behind the M&Ms.

They ended up in my belly shortly after this photo was taken.

The kids are old enough that they can now play Wii Sports and actually sort of play correctly. We've been playing baseball the past few nights and tonight they wanted to try boxing.

Don't mind the hideous floor.

A few days ago, the kids were watching a movie downstairs when, CRASH! I thought Riley knocked something over. We looked around and saw nothing. When I turned on the light, we looked up and saw that one of our florescent lights had fallen out of the socket and shattered on the opaque cover.

I got the ladder out and cleaned it up tonight.
