I took a bunch of pix today of B$ (that's B-Money) in the yard. She's been my companion at home as Marci and the kids have deserted me for CA.

I prepped 3 shots, all of B$ with this sorry tennis ball in her mouth. I liked this one the best because of her shiny nose.

Picture info: shot with Blackberry 8900.

This car was in our local mall. Apparently there's going to be a car show there this weekend. I'm guessing it'll be indoors. Plus, with the lousy weather we've had, it'd probably be safer that way.

Picture info: Shot on my Blackberry 8900. Touched up in PSE7.

I took Bella for a walk to a friend's house this morning. On the way, I saw this ladder on the side of an old building in the neighborhood.

Back in the day, this building, now an indoor batting cage (of all things), was an Albertson's grocery store. Across the street was a Tradewell grocery store.

Over the years, the Tradewell became a Red Apple, and the Albertson's went dormant, until it became the batting cage thing.

Our little neighborhood shopping area still exists, but I'm afraid that beyond a gas station and a bunch of parking, it will soon fade away unless someone re-purposes it.

In other news, this is my first non-Canon Rebel photo.

Here I thought I was going to post a picture of a sofa I found on the side of a road in Renton. Instead, I post this picture, another hold and shoot, of some flowers off exit 9 on 405.

The flower to the right is blue, but because of the sun, all I got was darkness. I tweaked the levels a bit to get it even darker and here you go.

A quick shot of the wagon next to our driveway. Held the camera down, shot a few exposures w/o using the viewfinder. I kind of like doing that.

My mom found this old vintage Kodak (circa 1969) pamphlet entitled Advanced Camera Techniques for 126 and 35mm Cameras. It has some killer old-timey photo examples and techniques that are still valid now. Looking forward to reading through it.

It's Riley's shoe. Though he does leave his stuff out, usually if it's a shoe, it's Bella's doing. When we come home, she brings us a shoe; when we enter a room, she brings us a shoe; if we look at her, she brings us a shoe.

You get the idea.

I took one photo today and this was it. Maybe that can be a theme for me. Photograph junk in situ in the house (did I use that right?).

Happy Monday everyone!

Another gardening shot. Some awesome weather working its way through Western Washington lately and this is the result. A lot of green and a lot of wet.

We spent Father's Day at the movies today, catching a 11:00am showing of Toy Story 3. Pretty hilarious, touching and overall very entertaining.

We spent the rest of the day indoors because the outdoors sucked and have sucked pretty much all of June.

By the way, happy first day of summer tomorrow.

Yeah, right!

Another back deck shot, this time looking down on a flower box of Haley's sunflowers. These were dying inside and Marci magically revived them.

I held the camera over my head, focused and shot down blindly. I liked how this turned out.

Got it?

Another quickie. We bought the cat a little hut to sleep in because she's demolishing our futon that she's claimed. Instead, she cozies up into the old comforter. What a dork.

This is my friend Layla. Marci has been her nanny for the school year and she has been a patient subject for my camera.

This little girl always has a smile and is just so fun to be around. I know we are going to miss her when she is gone for the summer.

And she really is this cute!

We have bamboo growing in the back yard. This actually looks kind of cool. It's about 4 feet high and fairly harmless. If I panned to the left a little, you'd see the insane bamboo growing, about 8 to 10 feet high, and roots probably just as deep.

What a mess.

My computer is pissing me off. I would have had this by midnight but it decided to take about 2 minutes to flatten a picture. I sped through the edit and the computer puked on me.

Anyway, this is the unedited shot. The edited one is incoming as my computer is STILL flattening it.

EDIT: The current picture is the turbo edited picture. Even though I didn't make my self imposed 11:59pm deadline, it was shot on 6/14. And as such, this is my first missed deadline all year.

Sob.

I have good excuses, but it won't happen again.

So much fun!

I took a walk in downtown Kirkland today. Saw these boats lined up and had to get a shot.

In PP I tried to do a manual vignette instead of the automatic. I "hand cut" the vignette with the lasso tool and then increased the opacity of it. Not sure if I like it so much.

A friend of mine gave me this Blackberry 8900 a few days ago. My old Pearl 8120 was biting the dust and I wanted a new phone.

I'd researched some of the Android phones and thought about waiting for some $$ to get one until I talked to my friend. He had one and he gave me this.

My love for the Blackberry has returned. Android what? iWho?

This baby is all I need. :)

I am feeling really uninspired this month. Don't know what it is. This strawberry is our lone strawberry. I'm guessing a crow will get it soon.

I need to get out tomorrow somewhere to shoot. It's Tuesdays with Riley tomorrow (his therapy day) so maybe I'll get some then.

I tried to edit out the ratty berries behind the main one but my PS skills are lacking. :(

This is on the backside of an innocent looking wall at a neighborhood park. As kids, we'd walk across the top of this wall. It's about 9 feet high or so (I'm guessing) so we felt pretty daring while doing it.

I don't remember ever going behind the wall, but on a whim today, I did.

I was in Fremont last night walking around and wanted to try my hand at panning. This was a pretty good one so here you go. I actually did upload this last night to my 365 blog via BlackBerry (a picture of a picture). This is just a cleaner version of that.

Went to a meeting on First Hill tonight for an event I'm volunteering for with Noise For The Needy.

NFTN is putting on some benefit shows in Seattle for an organization called Teen Feed. All proceeds go to Teen Feed and I will be taking photos of a show at the Tractor later this month.

After the meeting I walked around and found some old antique cameras getting dusty on top of a shelf at Half-Price Books. So here you go.
