I'll be honest. This photo looks better as a thumbnail. I was driving back home with Haley from the Girl Scouts store in Seattle and decided to take a couple shots in the Mercer Island tunnel. Would've been cool if I could have held it still for the 1 second exposure. Looks better that way.

Last time I checked, spring started on March 21. Today is April 27th. It was windy, rainy and about 45-50 degrees out.

I call shenanigans.

We had one spring like day recently. On Saturday, I think it got to 60 or so. Me and Riley wore shorts. It was awesome. And since then, it's pretty much been crappy.

At this rate, it'll be fall in no time!

Marci makes Cupcakes. I make cupcakes (capital C vs lowercase c).

Hay got a cupcaker making kit and a mini cupcake maker for her birthday. She was on us all day to make some and after a run to the store for some brownie mix, we got our baking on.

I helped her a bit and it was a grand old time. The taste was great, but the aesthetics could use some work.

Cupcakes are back! For Haley's birthday party tomorrow, Marci spent a few hours today and tonight making some sundae style cupcakes.

I wanted to take a 9 year old picture of Hay since today is her birthday. Since I had one of her a few days ago looking all messy, I had her brush her hair. I didn't get one with her eyes open, but I liked this because she looks so... with it, I suppose.

I took Bella out back for some Chuck-It time. She's gotten tired in her old age, I guess. After about 10 runs, she takes the ball and starts heading in. Today, she decided to hide under the planter.

I found her, though.

Last year's shot. Apparently a year ago today, it was warm enough for us to all be outdoors with short-sleeves on. Today wasn't quite that warm, but it's been an improvement.

Haley turns 9 this week. I told her I wanted to take her out for a photo shoot sometime. I took this as she was taking her hair down for the night. It's nice to see she still can do a perfect, non-forced smile on cue.

Shot this last year. I am lazy again today and decided to mine the archives. Plus, the Mariners are in KC anyway and, well, they suck. But last year, there was a game here and it was Felix on the mound and Ken Griffey Jr. Bobblehead night.

This sign was at the intersection of 112th and Bellevue Way, right where the panhandlers usually panhandle. Apparently in this area the city is wanting to build light rail or something. There are signs all over about no rail. I think this sign is poking fun at that.

Or it's a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy thing. I don't know.

Looks like I'll be needing my sorry ties again. Today I found out that my contract at Google won't be extended mid-June.

When I asked why I wasn't being extended, I was told that it was a decision made by management.

I told my supervisor that I don't rock the boat, I do well at the assignments I'm given, I don't have any absences (excused or not), and I play well with others.

Sigh.

Time to start over again.

I went out back without Bella to take pictures of our neighbor's new no-fence.

A few weeks ago, our backdoor neighbor came over, introduced himself, and asked me if we could help pay for our shared portion of the fence.

Luckily, he was super cool to begin with, and I appreciated his gesture. However, I turned him down and told him we simply couldn't afford it.

Anyway, they started demoing the fence today and what was left over were newly installed posts. I think the plan is for them to be done on Wednesday.

Anyway, Bella was quite perturbed that I didn't take her out. When I got back to the deck, I just held the camera down and took a blind shot.

100 down, 265 to go? Ugh. Anyway, today we did some spring cleaning, despite the dreary, winterish weather. I cleaned my nightstand and put up a few pictures.

Went to the Museum of Flight today for some fun.  There's a great new exhibition featuring a history of flight attendant uniforms through the years. Super cool and tacky all at once.

Last year we took a trip to Leavenworth for a few days. This year on our kids' spring break, we are staying at home as I am working and we're having some stuff done around the house.

In other news, it is snowing/hailing around here. What happened to spring??

Had about 45 minutes free today so I drive down under I-90 just past Newport Shores and walked around. This biker rode past me and I turned around and blind shot him.

He survived, thankfully.

My new best friend. I'm trying to wait until tomorrow morning to take my next Allegra pill. So far I feel ok but I can tell I may go downhill soon.
