My two best friends. I went to band practice tonight and Bella always loves it when that happens. When I'm not around, she shoves herself between Marci and the couch.

A tree Marci got for a Christmas present from her kids at work. It's lit by a lamp nearby.

Marci made some molasses cookies yesterday. They were delicious.

As in "The Best Cookies She's Ever Made" delicious.

And they're even gluten free! Which for me, usually means crumbly and dry, but somehow she had some magic mix of flour that made everything Just Right.

So yummy, indeed!

Marci was reading Haley something from her kid's Bible. Haley cracked up, but it wasn't because of the reading, but because of Bella licking Haley's foot.

The girls in my life. What hams!

The kids had another snow day today so Marci busted out the big guns.

Today's Daily Shoot topic: Make a photograph with either a 9 or 6 (components of today's date) in it represented in some way and post it today.

Even though today is 9/7.

Anyway, here are some veggies that Marci grew. I loved the tiny tomatoes and I liked the shape of the yellow thing. I cropped it closer because I thought it looked cool like that.

Today we had Riley's birthday party. Pirates was the theme, hence the bad-ass do-rag on my head.

I'm not even sure I made contact with this prodigious swing. Thanks to Marci for the killer shot!

It's a skillet corn bread cake bread thing. Marci made it for some acquaintances that had a baby last week. She also made chili (turkey. yum), and a salad for said family.

Unfortunately, this cornbread skillet thing didn't make it. You see, as beautiful as it was in the cast iron skillet, it tasted the opposite of how it looked. Like she lit it on fire, then gave it to me to try (she's allergic).

I don't disparage Marci's cooking because she's a freakin' great cook. However, because this was on its way to a friend's house, I had to be honest with her.

Also, it was such a lousy weather day, I didn't take but 5 pictures today and 3 were of the corn bread. Skillet thing.

We are seeing some friends the next few days. Marci made cupcakes for said friends. They are tasty! The cupcakes, that is.

Hope to get some awesome pictures the next few days...

Went on a walk with Marci and Bella today to mail a letter to the IRS. Behind our local dead shopping center (RIP Red Apple), I saw this fire lane line and liked the color. There you go. W00t.

Marci got some super cool new shoes today. Pumas! I loved the colors so I grabbed one and put it in my ghetto DIY lightbox, dialed up the speedlite and, blam, took a few pictures.

Marci stepped out to get a latte and some beans. Bella pined for her return. I shot this as I saw Bella see Marci on her way back. Haley rolled down her window and I snapped and hoped for the best. I would've preferred a smaller f/stop so Marci was more in focus, but this will do.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Someone told me they liked the pictures with people or kids in them better than the ones without. Most times, I'd agree, but to me, it's too easy to simply follow my kids around and snap photos of them. Plus, I think you'd get bored of seeing Haley and Riley all the time.

Today, we walked to school to pick Haley up. What you don't see in this picture is my left arm stretched to the max, trying to hold Bella back and still, so I could snap this picture.

I love Riley in his badass Scooby-Doo sunglasses. I love Riley's classmate hiding behind his other classmate. And I love Marci, KC and Haley bringing up the rear with Layla in the stroller.

Plus, as an added bonus? Everything is in focus. Sweet!

Once again, no photos from outside the house because I was at home all day. Big surprise! This is a picture of a cap to some scent thing Marci bought. I guess it's French and goes on top of some sort of candle that's supposed to make your air cleaner. I thought the cap was cool and then I popped it on the stove top for a few quick snaps.
