This is a 50mm shot of one of my 2 CD drawers. Several years ago, my CDs sat, unused and unloved on a shelf somewhere. I got myself a Rio Karma (RIP) mp3 player and proceeded to rip all my tunes over the course of several summer nights.

Since then, I have gone through about 2 more mp3 players and am now using a Sansa something or other that I got refurbished from woot.com. My CDs are still unused and unloved, but I can't bear to get rid of them.

I shudder to think of those people with thousands of CDs. I think I have about 200.

It's my mp3 player, a 4gb Sansa something or other. I got it a few years off of woot.com for about $25 or so. It has served me well since then. One reason I got it is because for some odd reason, I ripped most of my CDs to .ogg format, which is not readable by many mp3 players. With the Sansa, I was able to install an open source software called Rockbox, which allowed me to play .ogg, as well as customize it in many other ways.

It's no iPod, but it works for me.
