This is the view from my seat at our school's play this week. Last week I was asked to run sound.

I have never run sound before.

Rehearsals for me started Monday and went all week with performances last night, this morning and tonight.

I must say, it was a lot of fun and I found myself so proud of these kids. They really killed it (Jungle Book, BTW) and I was honored to be a part of it.

My first attempt at HDR. I plugged in 3 photos (shot at -2, 0 and +2) and this is what it came back with. Sort of cool, I suppose. It was handheld and I liked how the diagonal prop mirrored the diagonal in the windows behind.

This is a Goodyear F2G-1 Corsair. I know nothing about airplanes, but apparently it's cool enough to include at the Museum of Flight.

I had shot a bunch of pictures at our school play (for which I am running sound) and was going to use one of those. Until I took the dog out and saw our sunset.

Now, the sunset wasn't going to win any awards, but I liked the colors and thought I could finally incorporate the big ol' power lines in our back yard into a picture.

I spent the afternoon mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and weed whacking. In between tasks, I threw the ball for Bella. Somehow I found an extra one, so she had 5. I thought a shot of her toys and her bountiful backyard (Bella heaven) would be cool.

And, the obligatory desaturation and coloring of one object, of course. (can you tell I'm learning Photoshop?)

Haley had her birthday party today. It was "bug" themed. We literally went hiking and looked at bugs. With 14 seven and eight year olds! It was less screamy than you'd think.

Luckily the weather cooperated with us. The shot of the feet was towards the end of the party and the kids were getting ready to play Tag. Katri (shoe left) chose by doing an eenie meenie miney moe thing with the feet. I just wish I didn't catch her bending down to point at the feet (that's her in the upper left corner).
